Unknown and Conflicting Visitor Tells

Some uncertainty is more useful than a confident wrong answer. This page lists the current gaps that the tracker refuses to smooth over.

Unconfirmed records

The All Things How guide updated July 24 says these visitors did not yet have confirmed identification tells:

• Next Door Neighbour
• Old Man
• Drunk Girl

That statement is time-sensitive. A later game update or reproducible developer note could resolve it. Until then, the records remain marked Unknown.

Disputed Ballerina record

The two current guides checked for this site do not agree on the Ballerina warning behavior. One describes dancing on the camera as the anomaly sign. The other describes staring into the camera.

Publishing either behavior as settled would hide a real source conflict. The catalog and Visitor Tell Tracker therefore label Ballerina Disputed and show both source notes.

What to do in a live run

Run the broad evidence sweep:

1. complete the full dialogue;
2. verify any named room or object;
3. compare normal CCTV and night vision;
4. check the relevant outside view;
5. listen for voice or camera-audio distortion;
6. avoid treating missing evidence as a safe signal.

This process cannot guarantee the correct action for a visitor whose tell is not established. It simply prevents the most obvious skipped checks.

How the tools represent uncertainty

The Visitor Tell Tracker returns one of four states:

• Reported warning observed
• No reported warning observed
• Check incomplete
• Manual review required

Unknown and disputed records always use manual review. The tool never turns player confidence, gear ownership, or an unsupported probability into an admit recommendation.

The Sanity Scenario Simulator is separate. It can show the arithmetic result of a player-entered mistake scenario, but it does not decide whether the visitor is real.

Recheck after updates

The official Update 2 note proves this is an actively changing game. Every uncertain record carries the July 31 verification date. Recheck the sources page and this guide after a new public update note appears.
